This is the problem:
insserv: Starting smfpd depends on plymouth and therefore on system facility 
`$all' which can not be true!

The smfpd package, which does not come from Ubuntu, is installing an
initscript without LSB headers and that breaks the boot ordering
configuration.

I'm going to mark this bug as a duplicate of the real one, bug #1559416.
Please attach your /etc/init.d/smfpd file to bug #1559416.
