Thanks for filing this bug in Ubuntu. When configuring samba as an active directory controller, one has to switch to the "samba-ad-dc" systemd job instead of the individual smbd, nmbd and winbind jobs.
Could you please show the output of this command (you can redirect to a file and attach that file if you prefer): sudo systemctl status smbd.service nmbd.service winbind.service samba- ad-dc.service Also please attach all the files that begin with the text "log" from /var/log/samba, i.e., /var/log/samba/log* Thanks! ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1707148 Title: package winbind 2:4.5.8+dfsg-0ubuntu0.17.04.4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1707148/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
