Public bug reported: After upgrading to gutsy on a Dell Inspiron 6400 with an Intel 3945 Wireless card AND I boot on the default kernel (2.6.22-14-386), the wireless network doesn't work anymore.
When I perform a modprobe ipw3945, it doesn't work ("FATAL: Module ipw3945 not found"). It seems the ipw3945 isn't installed for the 2.6.22-14-386 kernel, but there's one for the -generic kernel. If I boot on the 2.6.22-14-generic kernel, everything works fine out of the box. I'm not sure if it's a bug or a "feature". I guess the -386 kernel is better tuned to my machine than -generic, and thus it would be good to be able to use the ipw3945 driver in this environment. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: gutsy-regression ** Tags added: gutsy-regression -- Wireless (Intel ipw3945) not working anymore after upg to gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155418 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
