Of course, there are cases where a bug also needs to be adressed in older releases. You can see below the general status, that this is also targeted against trusty (ie 14.04). To summarize, the bug is fixed in newer Ubuntu releases (so those users shouldn't be affected) and it has also been submitted for inclusion in 14.04, however this hasn't happened yet.
