Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Note: This is not related to desktop effects. I am not using them.

Following are some of the problems I have observed.
1. If I start Totem from Applications->Sound & Video->Movie Player, it waits
for something and hangs.
2. If I try to play a video with totem, irrespective of the format, same
behavior is observed as above.
3. Even mplayer can not play any video and hangs.

I have observed the problem with my work PC and my dad's laptop having
different intel cards. The problem doesn't occur on my home PC with ATI card
using Free ati drivers.
I have set 'Default Output' plugin for 'Video' as 'Autodetect' in
gstreamer-properties.
Let me know if you need any more info, And since I don't have access to my
personal mails from office, please bear with me for delayed replies.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
