Public bug reported: I have just installed a Samsung MFP Xpress C480FW. The printer is working ok The simple-scan is working ok if I choose to scan in "Text" mode. It also scans multipages, with no problems at all. Congratulations for the great tool. It is simple and do the job.
However if I try to scan in "Photo" mode, smple-scan sends something to the Samsung MFP that the printer/scanner reboots/resets/reinitialize. Only "Photo" mode does that. I have installed xsane and it is a little bit more complicated to scan (lots of options). xsane *can* scan with no reset/reboot of the Samsung MFP. It seems to me that some command simple-scan is sending to the Samsung MFP that is making it reinitialize. The Samsung MFP Xpress C480FW is networked attached (wirelessly).
