I went ahead and downloaded the official Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 Live CD from http://releases.ubuntu.com/7.10/ and it didn't seem to recognize the "Fn+F5" keypress either. I ran xev in terminal while running the Live CD and pressed "Fn+F5" but it didn't print anything to the terminal window. It did print stuff when I pressed other keys like "Fn+Delete" which maps to "Break" on the keyboard and "Fn+Insert" which maps to "Pause" on the keyboard.
