@alphablue
Yes, you're right!!!
I'd noticed that the DSDT.aml was detected at boot time but assumed that it was
not being (sort of) recognized.
My workaround in mandriva was made winth NO custom DSDT.aml file just FYI. And
I've tried with the Gutsy LiveCD with no avail also.
Now, according to kernel.org mailing lists (saw it somewhere) this is already
fixed in kernel 2.6.22.9 (I guess) but you must upgrade to BIOS v3.80 or later.
I will install Gutsy again and will make 2 changes in the kernel command line
(NO acpi=off) without installing my custom DSDT.aml. I'll even brake my lsystem
if necessary with all the fixes suggested above by Bernardo and some other guy.
If this does not work, I'll just wipe Gutsy and remain with Suse and /or
Mandriva

@ellisèe
I definitely agree with you in the memory issue!!!! But as said before, I'll
never boot ACPI=off as this laptop is what it is.... a laptop not a desktop.I
need to know my battery stats and to preserve it always cool.

The more we bitch out the more attention we get from devels :)
Cheers
Luis
