I have the same problem on ubuntu 17.10 with gnome shell 3.26.0 Bug usually occurs while tabbing between active windows. The effect is the screen freezing for some time and when it comes back gnome-shell restarting (looks same as restarting it with "ALT+F2, r").
I do not have actual reproduction steps as it does not seem to occur consistently on my machine, just about once per week. I have ibus-mozc installed and after each crash it stops reacting to hot keys. Manually changing input method from the toolbar brings it back to life making hotkeys work again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/869571 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_cast() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/869571/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
