That wouldn't surprise me. I've seen other reports, on IRC, to the same effect. Sadly, displayport is not optional here, not if I actually want to run my monitors at full resolution.
Someone mentioned it being a "known bug" in mutter? However they didn't link to it and I wasn't at the keyboard at the time to nag them to do so.
