I saw the reaction on <https://bugs.debian.org/878315>. So the
maintainer of the hunspell-en-us package tried to roll his own but
failed, and the conclusion is to keep the version from 2007 instead of
making use of the maintained one provided by lo-dicts? TBH it makes
little sense to me.

@Mattia: Any advice? Can't help playing with the thought to do this in
Ubuntu only. It's US English we are talking about, after all.
