Public bug reported: The HDF5 based NeXus data libraries do not work properly in recent versions of Ubuntu (tested with Mantid and McStas programs). The program using these through file access related error messages.
It seems to be a hdf5 library version issue, as reverting libnexus0v5 to the 16.04 version including the hdf dependencies fixes the issue. There may be a connection to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jhdf/+bug/1696456 which was reported for the hdfview program and can be fixed equally by reverting the hdf5 library to the previous version. (Packages that were reverted: hdf5-tools, hdfview, libhdf5-dev, libjhdf4-java, libjhdf4-jni, libjhdf5-java, libjhdf5-jni, libnexus0-dev, libnexus0v5, nexus-tools) ** Affects: jhdf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: hdf5 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1723933 Title: nexus library broken in 17.04/17.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jhdf/+bug/1723933/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
