Same problem/error message here. But not with all external drives. (Also KDE, Konqueror as default filemanager)
Some USB-harddisks just mount fine (automatical and with pmount) and other fail with automount but are working with pmount. It seems to me as USB-Flashdrives are always working (automatical and pmount). How is HAL decideing which is an removable and which not?
