I still think this bug falls completely under point 2.1 of the SRU wiki page. Twitter changed the character limit for a reason, and to say: "just use the old limit" is not a solution, because it makes you now act differently on their service than the rest of the users, who can use the new limit. In the end it could lead to ubuntu users not use corebird anymore.
I did apply the change locally to the sources of the artful package and recompiled it for myself. It works as expected now. This could be done easily for all repos, without increasing the major version of the package. I want to make clear that its not about me, i have a working solution. I think this could be and should be fixed for all ubuntu users without the need for them to install unstable packages or 3rd party Repos. I think your interpretation of the SRU is wrong. Since this would make no package patchable in final releases. I really dont understand why this is such a big issue to get the packages patched to work as expected with the twitter webservice. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1730927 Title: Support the new 280 character limit.
