Here is the workaround for Samsung M2070.
1.) sudo ln -sfr /usr/lib/sane/libsane-smfp* /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/sane 2.) Edit the file 59-smfp_samsung.rules (find it here: /etc/udev/rules.d) to include the following code/scanner number along with other Samsung model numbers already there: ATTRS{idProduct}=="2070", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes" 3.) Voila. It's working like a charm. I was trolling the Internet like a headless chicken the whole day. Thanks a gazillion to staedtler-przyborski for saving me out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1728012 Title: Many 3rd party scanner drivers are broken by a sane change To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1728012/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
