How to regenerate:
1. Open dash and search for gedit
2. Click to open gedit
3. After opening a gedit window, open dash again and search for gedit
4. In gnome shell, icon doesn't show any indicator that another window of gedit 
is already running and click on the icon will create a new window


Possible cause:
Installation of gedit create two .desktop file in /usr/share/applications. 
(gedit.desktop and org.gnome.gedit.desktop)

Workaround:
1. Delete /usr/share/applications/gedit.desktop
2. Edit /usr/share/applications/org.gnome.gedit.desktop and modify 
NoDisplay=true to NoDisplay=false
