Hi, I'm using Gutsy AMD64 myself and I've not this problem.
To make Ekiga versbose you need to change the opal library variant: $ sudo apt-get install libopal-2.2-ptrace (see this bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ekiga/+bug/155285 ) Then, start Ekiga like this: $ ekiga -d 4 Let us know where it takes so long...
