Public bug reported: pygtk is unmaintained upstream. It has not had a release since GNOME 3 was released in 2011.
pygtk will be removed from Debian and Ubuntu soon. Based on the current list of reverse dependencies, I don't expect this to happen before Ubuntu 18.04 LTS's release but it could happen for 18.10. The way forward is to port your app to use GObject Introspection bindings (and gtk3). For more information on GObject Introspection see [1] https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/GObjectIntrospection [2] https://wiki.gnome.org/Projects/PyGObject This will also enable you to re-enable several features that have had to be disabled (Browser, Terminal, Appindicator). ** Affects: lernid (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New ** Tags: bionic pygtk -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1740627 Title: lernid: Don't depend on pygtk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lernid/+bug/1740627/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
