This bug still affects Debian alsa so maybe it should be merged into the
main alsa. It was a problem until there was a kernel update and now the
mic "just works" on newer kernels but the speaker is not working.
alsamixer does see the card and when you select it you get "cannot load
mixer controls: Invalid argument". apaly doesn't see it for some reason:

 $ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA], device 0: bcm2835 ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA]
  Subdevices: 7/8
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
  Subdevice #1: subdevice #1
  Subdevice #2: subdevice #2
  Subdevice #3: subdevice #3
  Subdevice #4: subdevice #4
  Subdevice #5: subdevice #5
  Subdevice #6: subdevice #6
  Subdevice #7: subdevice #7
card 0: ALSA [bcm2835 ALSA], device 1: bcm2835 ALSA [bcm2835 IEC958/HDMI]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
However, arecord does see it:

$ arecord -l
**** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices ****
card 1: CameraB409241 [USB Camera-B4.09.24.1], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

This bug affects me currently and I have heard other people were able to
workaround it with a file ~/.asoundrc but I have tried all of those and can't
get any to work.
