This is pretty strange. The upgrade does not usually remove the old
kernel, so I don't understand how it disappeared from /boot.

Also, if you only had 2.6.20-15, you were not up to date in Feisty.
Maybe you did not have feisty-updates nor feisty-security in your
repository list? This might explain a bad upgrade, since it supposes a
fully updated system before starting upgrading.
