Public bug reported: Kubuntu 17.10
Ubuntu doesn't package the Snap backend for plasma-discover: $ apt search plasma-discover | grep -i artful WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in scripts. muon-discover/artful,artful 4:5.11.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.10~ppa1 all muon-notifier/artful,artful 4:5.11.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.10~ppa1 all muon-updater/artful,artful 4:5.11.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.10~ppa1 all plasma-discover/artful,now 5.11.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.10~ppa1 amd64 [installed] plasma-discover-common/artful,artful,now 5.11.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.10~ppa1 all [installed] plasma-discover-flatpak-backend/artful,now 5.11.5-0ubuntu1~ubuntu17.10~ppa1 amd64 [installed] As you can see, the Flatpak backend is packaged, but not the Snap backend! This seems odd given that Canonical is trying to promote Snap adoption, yet users of KDE Discover on Ubuntu-based distros (including Kubuntu) can't use Snaps! I would strongly recommend packaging the Snap backend. ** Affects: plasma-discover (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742298 Title: Snap backend not packaged To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plasma-discover/+bug/1742298/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
