Public bug reported:
After a standard package upgrade I was prompted to reboot, which I did.
Upon rebooting I found that they keyboard and touchpad no longer worked.
Keys would stick, mouse movement and button clicks were random and
sporadic, both with long periods of unresponsiveness. Attaching a USB
keyboard and mouse allowed me to regain control of the machine. Booting
into single user mode (no X11 session) presented the same keyboard
problems -- USB keyboard worked, built-in keyboard did not.
Booting into my last 4.10 kernel resolves the issue.
Reformatted and reinstalled system from scratch. Upon reboot the system
was fine. But after installing updates, which included
4.13.0-26-generic kernel, the problem resurfaced. Again, the problem
went away after booting an older 4.10 kernel.
This is on a Lenovo Yoga 11e laptop. I am happy to provide any further
information requested.
