Public bug reported: Wanted result: Open "Gimp" by using only the keyboard, without letting go of the standard keyboard-stance, asdfjklö. What happens: I Open the meny with <alt>-<F1>, but there I'm stuck. The "g"-key doesn't respond Reproducable: Yes Platform specific: No
Ok, in Windows I use the <super>-key to launch the menu. In Gnome/KDE I can live with the <alt>-<F1>shortcut, but when I want to stop down to "Graphics" I hit the "g"-key and nothing happens, the highligthed alternative doesn't jump down to "Games", (and of course neither after another keystroke to "Graphics"). BUT when I in this mode hit "s" as in "System" - I then change the menu to "System" and THERE I can navigate through the menu-options by pressing the "a"-key repeatedly I choose between "Administration", "About Gnome" and "About Ubuntu". I think this is a usabilityproblem that should be solved - we shoudn't force the users to use the arrow keys when it could be done otherwise (and more correct) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Initial keys in Gnome-menu doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157090 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
