Preloading the attached shared library solves the hang on non-udev initrds. Compile with
gcc -shared -fPIC -o no-udev.so UdevDisableLib.c -ldl Difference seems to be that /dev/mapper/ entries are created a s block devices, not symlinks any more. But that does not hurt in my usecase (kexec will kill the whole initrd immediately afterwards). ** Attachment added: "UdevDisableLib.c" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cryptsetup/+bug/1589083/+attachment/5044911/+files/UdevDisableLib.c -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589083 Title: crypsetup hangs when only cryptsetup-bin is installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cryptsetup/+bug/1589083/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
