And just as a follow-on to my previous comment - is it possible to test this with the latest code from the master branch? I know you're running packages from Ubuntu I just didn't want to waste cycles tracking things down that might be fixed already, and maybe just need a backport to a stable branch. That's not saying there isn't a new bug here as there most likely is.
