Finally got it! linux-tools-generic needs to commands to be executed after install: ln -s /usr/lib/linux-tools/$(uname -r)/usbip /usr/sbin/usbip ln -s /usr/lib/linux-tools/$(uname -r)/usbipd /usr/sbin/usbipd By doing this, root will have usbip and usbipd in its executable path
