This bug isn't fixed already, in 17.10 version I must edit /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf.d/pulse.conf and add the asound.conf and .asoundrc. I have a JAVA app that uses alsa to redirec its audio to a fifo and I have to make this changes every time ALSA is updated. Please, reopen the bug or give an alternate solution that doesn't imply editing this file.
