Can you run the following commands, and then attach the four files to this bug
report please?[0]
I think its a bug in the Nvidia Restricted driver. As the driver is
proprietary, there isn't much we can do, but what we can do is log the problem,
and try to make sure that its not a conflict somewhere in the system.

in Gutsy, System freezes when attempting to update via synaptic manager or with
add remove applications - but only when the NVIDIA proprietary driver is
activated.
