Given that even a PRIME switch requires a logout and a reboot isn't that much worse, I think it's a reasonable workaround for initial release (not far away, and reading about the current state of affairs, probably too imminent to get PRIME working again) to require that folks switch drivers to intel via package management instead of PRIME. The bare minimim would be to fix this minor bug:
