Tormod, sorry for not being able to test the last version earlier. If i remember correct, I have the same configuration as David (inspiron 5100 and ATI Radeon 7500 Mobility), and i can confirm too that the latest version (xserver-xorg-video-ati_6.7.195+git20071020tv) is working without the LVDS-option.
