Public bug reported:

i tried installing mysql in ubuntu 16.04, as it installed mysql-5.7 and
I wanted 5.6 , I uninstalled 5.7 and installed 5.6 instead. After a few
days, doing a scan of my open ports, a crash report pops up saying
mysql-5.7 crashed and in the summary says it's not installed. Not sure
what this means.
