Thanks for getting back, unfortunately I don't have another machine with
SATA II support available so I'm stuck waiting for the daily CD/DVD
images assuming there's no guide on how to build my own install cd with
your kernels?

Attached is lspci -v on a machine with the ASUS P5B (not the deluxe one)
with one DVD drive (IDE) and two SATA IIs - I can get around the cdrom
not there issue by booting to USB disk, but then my SATA's don't get
detected which *might* be the ata_piix issue you've just fixed, i'll try
the first daily your kernel's in and let you know here.
