Public bug reported:

The message shown is:
"The Grub-EFI-amd64-signed package failed to install into / target/. Without
the Grub boot loader, the installed system will not boot.

As a possible workaround, I tried to switch the system to legacy BIOS, which
told me that the install was complete, but upon trying to boot the installed
system, it failed at a grub screen.
The storage on this system is a 32 gb MMC storage device. The only reason I
think that this issue is separate from the storage is because Ubuntu Mate 17.10
installs completely fine on this system.
Attempting an update to Ubuntu 18.04 beta or daily builds through
update-manager -d results in this same sort of problem occuring.
The expected result is that when running the installer, that the bootloader
will install and the installation would succeed.
Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to any fixes you may be
able to provide.

Sincerely,

Brandon Tyson
