"this appears to be unrelated to cryptsetup itself" Hmm ...
My experience: 1. I installed Ubuntu 18.04 from a daily built a couple of days ago 2. I plugged in an encrypted ext4 usb-stick. It did not work. I tried to format an usb-stick with encrypted ext4. It did not work. 3. I installed "cryptsetup". It still did not work. 4. I installed "libblockdev-crypto2" (that is not marked to be part of supported Ubunut-Packages) and it worked. Sry, I cannot say more about this issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1760282 Title: Cryptsetup does not allow storage-drive encryption, it has unfullfilled dependencies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udisks2/+bug/1760282/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
