Just to confirm, the instructions from comment #286 still work in latest
Ubuntu 17.10.1

There is a but, you have to modify source code from the cloned
repository in order to compile it

You have to change

HCI_BREDR

with

HCI_PRIMARY

in rtbth_core_bluez.c.

After that, all compiles and works.

I'm using it with my bt headphones (SBH-20), **but the quality of the
sound is awful**
