Public bug reported:

$ lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu Bionic Beaver (development branch)
Release:        18.04
om/ubuntu bionic/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

ubuntu-software:
  Installed: 3.28.0-0ubuntu7
  Candidate: 3.28.0-0ubuntu7
  Version table:
 *** 3.28.0-0ubuntu7 500

        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.c500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.c...

Ubuntu Software does not see Firefox as installed (testing on minimal
installation option). The package is not shown in the list of installed
software and the Install button for Firefox snap package is available.
Installing this leaves both versions on the system, while expected for
an experienced user this is not intuitive for a new Ubuntu user.
