Thanks. Those bugs show you're using nvidia-384, which might be related. Although I could not find anything that was obviously frozen.
If you edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and uncomment this line: #WaylandEnable=false does that fix it? Also you seem to have a lot of these errors (in case that's relevant): apr 17 10:28:42 hostname lircd-0.10.0[898]: Error: Cannot glob /sys/class/rc/rc0/input[0-9]*/event[0-9]* apr 17 10:28:43 hostname lircd-0.10.0[898]: Error: Cannot glob /sys/class/rc/rc0/input[0-9]*/event[0-9]* apr 17 10:28:44 hostname lircd-0.10.0[898]: Error: Cannot glob /sys/class/rc/rc0/input[0-9]*/event[0-9]* apr 17 10:28:45 hostname lircd-0.10.0[898]: Error: Cannot glob /sys/class/rc/rc0/input[0-9]*/event[0-9]* apr 17 10:28:46 hostname lircd-0.10.0[898]: Error: Cannot glob /sys/class/rc/rc0/input[0-9]*/event[0-9]* apr 17 10:28:47 hostname lircd-0.10.0[898]: Error: Cannot glob /sys/class/rc/rc0/input[0-9]*/event[0-9]* apr 17 10:28:47 hostname orca[1786]: atspi_accessible_set_cache_mask: assertion 'accessible == accessible->parent.app->root' failed apr 17 10:28:47 hostname orca[1786]: atspi_accessible_set_cache_mask: assertion 'accessible == accessible->parent.app->root' failed apr 17 10:28:48 hostname orca[1786]: atspi_accessible_set_cache_mask: assertion 'accessible == accessible->parent.app->root' failed apr 17 10:28:48 hostname orca[1786]: atspi_accessible_set_cache_mask: assertion 'accessible == accessible->parent.app->root' failed apr 17 10:28:48 hostname orca[1786]: atspi_accessible_set_cache_mask: assertion 'accessible == accessible->parent.app->root' failed apr 17 10:28:48 hostname orca[1786]: atspi_accessible_set_cache_mask: assertion 'accessible == accessible->parent.app->root' failed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1764643 Title: Logout after console use freezes GUI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1764643/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
