This bug forced me to search for ubuntu alternatives. I'm looking currently at Manjaro.
About commenting out dns=dnsmasq. Doing so on laptop (LAN and wifi connections active) has this drawback: ping my_comp_name .....unresloved name adding my_comp_name to /etc/hosts makes the ping my_comp_name working again, but unplagging RJ45, system changes automatically to wifi connetcion (other IP) and ping my_comp_name again is not working. With dnsmasq enabled the system nicely deals with name resolution so there are no such issues. What happens when the host name resolution is not working ok? System behaves oddly (it delays some operations in many situations). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1688018 Title: DNS server from vpn connection is not being used after network-manager upgrade to 1.2.6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1688018/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
