The problem is that the package nvidia-glx-legacy PROVIDES nvidia-glx, so it cannot be installed alongside nvidia-settings. The simplest solution would be to modify the nvidia-glx-legacy package so that it does not provide nvidia-glx anymore. I don't know if this may create other kind of problems.
The best solution would be to rename the current nvidia-glx package to nvidia-glx-current (or nvidia-glx-stable), and live nvidia-glx has a meta-package provided by all the NVIDIA drivers. In this way, nvidia- settings could be made to conflict only with nvidia-glx-stable and nvidia-glx-new. -- nvidia-settings package cannot be installed along with nvidia-glx-legacy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156730 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
