As long as the edit and ftp features work, I'm happy to run a snap of
shutter.

Maybe a snap would be much easier to maintain too?

With a snap, aren't all the dependencies encapsulated inside on snap-
package? I don't care if that snap is 500MB in size, I'd still run it
(if it works).
