Hi, I had the same problem in Gutsy...mouse (MS Wireless Laser Mouse 5000) stopped working while keyboard and the rest kept responding. Sometimes major lockups and I had to reboot the hard way.
But I tried the "noapic irqpoll" option after updating my bios (MSI K8N Neo-2 54-G) and we're off to lockups-no-more-land.
