Public bug reported:

As with all the proceeding distros from ubuntu 16.10 the brightness of the OLED 
screen canot be set. Since xrander is no more present there is also no hack 
around this problem anymore. This bug is a killer for using the system as full 
brightness drains the battery quickly.
OLED screens have no backlight, thus this might be the issue.
