Also these two messages suggest pauses at a low level that could block other things:
May 7 17:27:40 reichelt-desktop nautilus[3278]: Called "net usershare info" but it failed: Kindprozess »net« konnte nicht ausgeführt werden (No such file or directory) May 9 17:41:25 reichelt-desktop kernel: [ 1033.469201] perf: interrupt took too long (2501 > 2500), lowering kernel.perf_event_max_sample_rate to 79750 The second one in particular suggests the kernel is getting stuck. Maybe keep an eye on the kernel log (dmesg -w) for more information. Also try avoiding network filesystems/mounts for a while (in case you're using those). Any problem in the network while doing so could cause such pauses. Although admittedly a properly designed UI should ignore such issues, I don't think gnome-shell is there yet. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769695 Title: Freeze of Surface for 2 Minutes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1769695/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
