Jared, Thunderbird Indexing is disabled in the beagle-0.2.18 release due to memory and CPU usage problems. Looks like it is enabled on your computer; maybe the ubuntu packager enables it. I suggest turning it off by doing this as user from the command line $ beagle-config daemon DenyBackend Thunderbird
