For anyone who wants a fix independent from Ubuntu maintainers action:

Go to the deb multimedia repo for unstable sid and download
http://www.deb-multimedia.org/dists/unstable/main/binary-amd64/package/cd-paranoia
 and
http://www.deb-multimedia.org/dists/unstable/main/binary-amd64/package/libcdio18.php
 .

Install with `dpkg -i`, done. Two harmless error messages are thrown
when the program runs, they can be safely ignored.

Errors to ignore:
cd-paranoia: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcdio_paranoia.so.2: no version
information available (required by cd-paranoia)
cd-paranoia: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcdio_cdda.so.2: no version
information available (required by cd-paranoia)
