Hi

1. When using 16.10, were you able to adjust the brightness via keyboard
key press, or you could only adjust the brightness via xrandr?

I could only adjust it with the terminal and xrandr

2. In order to allow additional upstream mainline kernel developers to
examine the issue, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the
latest mainline kernel available from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/
~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D ? Please keep in mind the following:

after testing the kernel the bug still exists. Not quite clear where to add
the flag though.

kernel-bug-exists-upstream-v4.17-rc6

the grub issue I had is fixed. (not related to this bug)

Best Regards
Marvin Rueppel
