Someone will fix somewhere in the future. The problem is here since months now and has not been fixed in Gutsy either. I'm actually thinking to move to another distro just for this. Not the bug, the carelessness. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd focus resources in kernel issues like this one rather than,say, 3D desktop effects.
