I'm seeing a similar problem since the gutsy upgrade that would kind of support the video thesis of naught101. I have not tried suspend yet but hibernate has been consistent. Appeared to work shutting everything down then failed on resume with the regular "hibernate failed" dialog box and network cards errors out with "no such device"
This is an old HP/Compac nx9000.
