Ah, sorry. If you're talking about 1.2GB used on login then you must be talking about the virtual memory size. That's not real memory - only address space. For actual memory allocations see the VmData field in /proc/PID/status. I think it's probably safe to call this a duplicate of bug 1759497 then. ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1672297 gnome-shell uses lots of memory, and grows over time ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1759497 80% (512MB) of gnome-shell's memory mappings at start up are due to PulseAudio -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1774047 Title: gnome (or something) uses a lot of memory To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1774047/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
