Public bug reported: Hi All, I have a notebook ASUS A7M with sempron, using it as 32bit. All was fine with feisty. I have upgraded to gutsy and with the new kernel 2.6.22.14-generic the system hangs during the boot process. I have discovered that all its fine with acpi=off in the kernel boot string, but I need ACPI. For now its a good workaround but I need a permanent solution.
I have also compiled a new vanilla kernel linux-2.6.23.1 but I need to disable acpi,too. With the old kernel I can run with acpi but I can start NVIDIA drivers.
